EDS Knowledgable Providers
Pediatric Providers
General Practitioners
Dr. Hailey Nelson
Dr. Nelson knew right away that my son appeared to have EDS and referred him to genetics. However, the clinic is specifically for children with complex care needs. She recommends children who are already diagnosed with EDS and/or already being treated by several specialists to schedule an intake to receive more complex care in a centralized location at Charlie Mitchell Clinic.
Geneticists
Dr. Jeremy Woods
Dr. Woods was previously part of the Undiagnosed Disease Network. He is used to trying to solve mysteries! He has gone the extra mile to rule out or rule in diagnoses for all 3 of my children. He diagnosed my son given the 3-generation history of symptomatic presentation of EDS.
Physical Therapists
Aimee Tijerina, DPT & Elias Tijerina, DPT
Aimee and Elias are an absolute wealth of knowledge. They love their work and they are very knowledgeable with
EDS and hypermobility. They have also seen an increase in pediatric dysautonomia in their clinic.
Occupational Therapists
Sarah Chumley-Johnson, OT
Sarah is very EDS, hypermobility, chronic illness and dysautonomia knowledgeable. She also approaches therapy services with mental health and overall wellness in mind. Services are in-home!
Adult Providers
General Practitioners
Silvia Acosta, PA
She is a wonderful listener and believes her patients! She supported my journey to diagnosis and has not hesitated to refer me to any specialist or imaging when something was not right. She understands EDS and understands when there is more going on than what’s on the surface.
Rheumatologist
Dr. Anna Kazarian, Rheumatologist
Dr. Kazarian diagnosed me. I knew about EDS for many years but never pursued diagnosis until recent hip surgeries.
Cardiologists
Dr. Chandra Palaniswamy, Electrophysiologist/Cardiologist
Dr. Palaniswamy is very personable and will make sure he covers all of his bases to test if there is a concern for POTS. He ordered my Tilt Table Test (in town!) and diagnosed me with POTS. He has reached out to me several time since then for referral information for other patients he has suspected to have EDS. He really cares and wants patients to find the answers to their symptoms!
Urologists
Dr. Christopher Julian, Urologist
I had a good chuckle by the end of my appointment with Dr. Julian because I may have offended him when I began to explain EDS to him. He asked me “Do you know who I am?” and then proceeded to tell me about the significant amount of time he spent working with EDS patients at Stanford. He seemed very knowledgeable and proud of it!
Occupational Therapists
Lindsay Pimentel, OT
Linday and her team support many patients with EDS and are great with accommodating for hypermobility.
Physical Therapists
Robby Pauline, DPT & Kyle Baxter, DPT
Dr. Robby and Dr. Kyle are very familiar with EDS and implement as much of the Muldowney
Protocol as possible with their own personal knowledge and tailored to the patient! They also work with tweens and teens.
Dentists
Dr. Derek Kawano, DDS
Dr. Derek was so great. I went to him with a partially locked jaw due to TMJ and when I told him I have EDS, he explained to ME how EDS and hypermobility cause TMJ and other dental issues and how he approaches this specific need. I couldn’t believe my ears to finally not have to explain EDS to a provider!
